The exhibition explores the creative world of Elio Fiorucci (Milan, 1935–2015), a designer, trendsetter, and entrepreneur. Since the 1960s, his brand has revolutionized fashion, lifestyle, and the contemporary art scene in Italy. His concept stores were pioneering spaces, introducing the public to an eclectic mix of clothing, music, publications, and unique items from around the world. More than just retail spaces, these stores became cultural hubs, hosting happenings, performances, and serving as stages for contemporary art and music, attracting intellectuals, performers, and artists alike.
The retrospective takes a biographical approach, shedding new light on Fiorucci’s life, entrepreneurial journey, and cultural impact. Throughout the exhibition, Fiorucci’s own voice – captured through previously unpublished recordings – narrates personal memories, interacting with voices of other key figures from his career, creating a rich dialogue about the legacy of this iconic designer.
